The network icon does not appear in the notification area of the task bar.
There is no network icon in the notification area of the task bar.
If the network icon is not displayed on the notification are of the task bar, check the following.
# Check whether the driver of the icon of the desired network is disabled or not.
* Procedure
1. Click Start. Right-click My Computer and the click Properties.
2. Click Hardware tab and then click Device Manager.
3. Expand Network Adapters to check the network adapter of the desired network.
4. If the network adapter is disabled with a red X mark, double-click the network adapter.
If it is not disabled, check the following item.
5. Click Use this device (enable).
6. Click OK.
# Check the settings on Network Properties.
* Procedure
1. Click Start and then click Connect to-Show all connections.
2. Double-click the icon of a desired network.
3. Ensure Show icon in notification area when connected option is selected.
4. Click OK.
# Check the settings with Taskbar and [Start] Menu Properties.
* Procedure
1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and Themes.
3. Click Taskbar and Start Menu.
4. Click Taskbar tab and then click Customize.
5. Click the item on the right of the name of the desired icon and then click Hide When inactive or Always Show.
6. Click OK.
