No sound from audio playback
When I insert an audio CD and start playback, there's no sound coming through the speakers on PCG-505
The CD-ROM contains digital data that are converted into analog audio in the CD-ROM drive. You can plug the headphones into the CD-ROM drive and listen to the music. This audio signal cannot be sent to the laptop via the PC card (this handles digital data only) that connects to the VAIO.
Model PCG-505: You need a cable with two stereo jacks and plug it into headphones socket on the CD-ROM drive (green color) and into the line-in (black color socket) on the PCG-505 to playback on the external stereo speakers for the PCG-505.
