Important Notes:

• When performing the system software update, please use a fully charged rechargeable battery pack NP-BX1.
• Do not remove the battery or AC adaptor during the update; otherwise, the camera may become inoperable due to the sudden power shutdown.
• Remove the memory card from the camera beforehand.
• Prevent your computer from sleep mode beforehand.
• Do not be connected to other apparatuses except your computer.

1. Download the update file
   Click on the file Update_DSCRX100M5V200.dmg to begin download. Please save the downloaded file onto the Desktop of your computer (recommended).
2. Start Software Updater
   1. Do not connect the camera yet at this point. Double-click Update_DSCRX100M5V200.dmg to start up Software Updater.
   2. Double-click the Update_DSCRX100M5V200 icon which appears on the Desktop.
   3. Double-click the Software Updater icon.
   4. To load a kernel extension, the message prompts you to allow the application to make changes. Type the password for the administrative account.
      
   5. System Software Updater starts up.
      


3. Check the USB connection mode
   
   1. Turn on the camera.
   2. According to the System Software Updater instructions, select Menu > Setup > 4 > USB Connection on the camera, then check if Mass Storage is selected.
      
      If a mode other than Mass Storage is selected, select Mass Storage.
      
   
   
4. Connect the camera to the computer
   Remove the memory card from the camera beforehand, then connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable. USB Mode appears on the LCD monitor of the camera.
   
   If the computer cannotfind the camera, the message "Could not find the camera for this update." appears on the computer display. Try the following if this happens.
   • Disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
   • If the computer has multiple USB terminals, try with the other terminals.
   
   Sometimes when the camera is connected to the computer with the USB cable, the message to encourage rebooting the computer may appear on the computer display. In this case, remove the battery pack or AC adaptor from the camera, reboot thecomputer, and follow the procedures from Start up System Software Updater.


5. Check if the update is required
   
   1. After confirming the LCD monitor of the camera, click Next. The current version and the version after the update appear on the lower left part of the screen.
      
      Upgrade is required
      
      
      Note: If Current version is Ver.2.00, the upgrade is not required. According to the message, stop the USB connection and click Finish. Turn off the camera, remove the battery pack or the AC adaptor, and then turn on the cameraagain.
   
   
   2. After confirming Current version is Ver. 1.01, click Next.


6. The camera automatically reset
   The screen below appears.
   
   Note: Loading icon may not be displayed depending on the OS version you are using.


7. Start the update
   After automatically resetting, the following screen appears and the update starts. The progress bar appears while updating (approximately 15 minutes).
   
   Note: Never turn off the camera not disconnect the USB cable while updating.


8. Complete the update
   When the update is completed, the camera will automatically restart. Make sure the camera is turned on and wait until the LCD screen appears again. Click [Finish] when the LCD screen appears and disconnect the USB cable.
   
   If recovering data caution is displayed after restarting, please wait until this caution goes out. There are no abnormalities.
   


9. Check the system software version
   Follow the instruction to confirm the system software version is Ver. 2.00.
   
   
   1. Select Menu > Setup > 6 > Version on the camera.
      
   
   
   2. The system software version is displayed.
