    Why can't the VAIO computer shut down, restart or shift into Standby or Hibernation mode?

    This symptom may be due to some installed programs or peripherals. To avoid the symptom, disconnect all peripherals and close all programs before performing Shutdown, Restart, or shifting the VAIO computer into the Standby or Hibernation mode.

    The following softwares are known to cause this symptom (as of May 17, 2002).
    1. VERTITAS RecordNow DX Wizard
    2. Switching tool for DV/Analog I/O
    Close these programs before shifting the VAIO computer into the Standby or Hibernation mode.
