What to do if an error message appears when the System Properties dialog box or My Computer is selected?

Err Msg: rundll32.exe - Unable to locate Component. This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

There are 2 ways to resolve this symptom:
1. Replace the Framedyn.dll file
2. Verify System Variables

Please refer to the procedures below for the respective methods:

A. Replace Framedyn.dll File
1. Click Start and then click Run.
2. Enter %systemroot%\system32\dllcache in the text box and click OK.
3. Right-click framedry.dll and then click Copy.
4. Close the dllcache window.
5. Click Start and then click Run.
6. Enter "%systemroot%\system32\wbem in the text box and click OK.
7. Click Edit menu and then click Paste.
8. Click Yes to confirm the file replacement and close the wbem window.

B. Verify System Variables
1. Click Start, right-click on My Computer and then click Properties.
2. If the framedyn.dll - Unable to locate Component error message appears, click OK.
3. Click the Advanced tab and then click Environment Variables.
4. Click the Path variable and then click Edit.
* If the Path variable does not appear, click New and enter Path in the Variable name box.
5. Enter %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%:%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem in the Variable name box and click OK.
6. Click OK twice.
