Check the firmware version
Your firmware may already be up to date, especially if you have a new Sound Bar. If the version number is 2.375 or higher, you do not need to update.
If you're not sure, it's easy to check which version of firmware you have:
- Turn on your TV and make sure that it's tuned to the input your Sound Bar is connected to, so if the Sound Bar is connected to the HDMI2 socket, choose HDMI2 as the input.
- Turn on the Sound Bar.
- Press HOME on the remote control and wait until you see the HOME screen.
- On the home screen, select Setup → Advanced Settings with the arrow keys on the remote control and then press ENTER.
- Select System Settings → System Information with the arrow keys on the remote control and then press ENTER.
- On the TV screen, if the version number is 002.375 or higher (the 1st and 2nd zeros of the software version number can be ignored), you already have the most recent firmware version.
Important Notice
- Read the instructions carefully or you may damage your HT-Z9F.
- Do not turn off the HT-Z9F or disconnect it from AC power while it is updating.
- Do not press any buttons, except the ones mentioned in the instructions.
- Do not pull out the power cord or network (LAN) cable while the software is downloading and updating. It may cause the system to fail.
There are two easy ways to update the firmware:

Cannot communicate with the server. Please try again later. and you cannot perform the firmware upgrade.
- Check that the LAN cable is connected.
- Make sure you have confirmed whether or not your Sound Bar has its own IP address in the network settings. (If you use a proxy server, type the IP address of the proxy you use into the Proxy Server field instead of the proxy hostname.)
- Try the update again.
- The power went off while the update was in progress.
Turn the Sound Bar on and try the update again. - The update has been going on for over 60 minutes and hasn't finished.
