    About JEITA Measuring Standard:


    PREPARATION

    1. Connect your VAIO computer to an AC power source.
    2. Recover your VAIO computer.
    3. Turn on your VAIO computer.
    4. Show the Start screen and select the Desktop tile or press <windows> key + D.
    5. Delete all icons except the garbage box on the desktop.
    6. Turn the Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock indicator light off on your keyboard. If you are using the wireless keyboard, the turning off operation is unnecessary.

    INVALIDATING THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE DRIVE

    1. Open File Explorer and select the Local Disk (C:) and right-click on Properties.
    2. Select the Tool tab.
    3. Select the Optimization.
    4. Select the Changing setting.
    5. Uncheck Notify me if three consecutive scheduled runs are missed.
    6. Uncheck Run on a schedule (recommended).
    7. Select OK.
    8. Close all windows on the desktop.

    VAIO CONTROL CENTER SETTINGS (Please skip the step when the item does not exist)

    1. Start VAIO Control Center and set them as follows.
    2. Go to Power and BatteryPower Plan → Select Power saver.
    3. Go to Power and BatteryCooling and Performance → Select Silence.
      Note: Please select Silence in both STAMINA and SPEED if your VAIO computer has the performance selector switch.
    4. Go to Power and BatteryPower SavingSet the display refresh rate when running on battery → Select 40Hz.
    5. Go to Mouse and KeyboardKeyboard BacklightSet the keyboard backlight action when running on battery → Select Do not turn on.
    6. Go to Image QualityDisplay BrightnessSet whether to sense the brightness and automatically adjust the display brightness accordingly → Select Off.
    7. Go to Image QualityDisplay Color Mode → Select Off.
    8. Go to Image QualityMobile BRAVIA Engine 2 → Select Off.
    9. Go to Sound QualitySound Effects → et the sound effect to use. Please skip if you cannot select None.
    10. Go to HardwareRapid Wake → Select Off.
    11. Go to OtherSend Usage Data →Select Off.
    12. Close all windows on the desktop.

    CONTROL PANEL SETTINGS (Please skip the step when the item does not exist)

    1. Go to Control Panel.
    2. Select Large icon or Small icon by View.
    3. Select User accountsChange User Account Control settings .
      1. Move the slide bar to Never notify.
      2. Click OK.
      3. Click Control Panel Home.
    4. Select Action CenterChange Action Center Settings.
      1. Uncheck All enable item.
      2. Go to Customer Experience Improvement Program settings.
      3. Check No, I don't want to participate in the program.
      4. Click Save Changes.
      5. Click OK.
      6. Click Control Panel Home.
    5. Select SystemAdvanced system settingsAdvanced tab → Performance: Settings.
      1. Click Adjust for best performance.
      2. Click OK.
      3. Select Remote tab.
        1. Uncheck Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer.
        2. Click OK.
        3. Click Windows Experience Index or System rating is not availableRe-run the assessment or Rate this computer.
        4. Click Control Panel Home.
    6. Select Windows FirewallTurn Windows Firewall on or off.
      1. Check Turn off windows firewall (not recommended) of Private network setting.
      2. Check Turn off windows firewall (not recommended) of Public network setting.
      3. Click OK.
      4. Click Control Panel Home.
    7. Select TroubleshootingChange settings.
      1. Select Off of Computer Maintenance.
      2. Uncheck Allow troubleshooting to begin immediately when started.
      3. Click OK.
      4. Click Control Panel Home.
    8. Select Power OptionsPower saver.

      9. Go to Battery.
        1. Critical battery actionOn battery : Shut down.
        2. Low battery levelOn battery : 0% . Click Yes when alert message display.
        3. Critical battery levelOn battery : 100%. Click Yes when alert message display.

    12. Click OK.
    13. Select Language.
      1. Confirm only English on language list.
      2. Remove item when other language exist.
      3. Please add English from Add a language if there is no English.
    14. Select Notification Area Icons.
    15. Go to Turn system icons on or off.
      1. Input indicator : off.
      2. Click OK.
      3. Check Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar.
      4. Click OK.
    16. Close all windows.

    WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER SETTINGS

    1. Start Windows Media Player and carry out initial setting as follows.
    2. Select Windows Media PlayerCustom SettingsNext.
    3. Uncheck all the following items, and click Next.
      1. Display media information from the Internet.
      2. Update music files by retrieving media information from the Internet.
      3. Download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file.
      4. Send unique Player ID to content providers.
      5. I want to help make Microsoft software and services even better by sending Player usage data to Microsoft.

      6. Check Make Windows Media Player the default music and video player, and Click Finish.
      7. The display of Windows Media Player is changed into skin mode by Ctrl+2.
    4. Close all windows.

    SYSTEM CONFIGURATION SETTINGS

    1. Press the Win + R key.
      1. Enter the msconfig in the Run.
      2. Click the OK.
      3. System configuration is started.
      4. Startup tab → Click the Open Task Manager.
      5. Turn off all the items that are displayed. Select the items one at a time click on the bottom right Disable or Select Disable from the menu that appears by right-clicking.
      6. Close the Task Manager Window.
    2. Click the Services tab.
    3. Check the Hide all Microsoft services → Click the Disable all.
    4. Uncheck the Hide all Microsoft services → Uncheck the following items.

    5. Click the OK.
    6. Click the Restart.
    7. After the reboot the screen display will start.
    8. Click the Desktop to display the desktop.

    VAIO GATE SETTINGS
    *When VAIO Gate is not installed, this setting is unnecessary.

    1. Click to VAIO Gate (under left the desktop).
    2. Click to Settings (ToolBox icon).
    3. Load at startup is switch to No..
    4. Click to Quit.

    TASKBAR / DESKTOP SETTINGS
    *When the item doesn't exist, this setting is unnecessary.

    1. Right click to Taskbar.
    2. Click to Properties.
    3. Check Auto-hide taskbar.
    4. Click to OK.
    5. Right click to Desktop.
    6. Click to View.
    7. Uncheck Show desktop icons.
    8. Click to OK.
    9. Right click to Desktop.
    10. Click to Graphics Properties....
    11. Check Advanced Mode and Click to OK.
    12. Click to Power.
    13. On battery is select from Power Source.
    14. Uncheck Display Power Saving Technology.
    15. When pop up message is displayed, Click to OK.
    16. Right click to Desktop.
    17. Click to Personalize.
    18. Click to Desktop Background.
    19. Select Sony by Picture Location.
    20. Select VAIO Long Battery Life Wallpaper XXXX x YYYY*
      *XXXX x YYYY is a resolution of the screen
    21. Click to Save changes.
    22. Click to Screen Saver.
    23. Select to (None) by Screen Saver.
    24. Click to OK.
    25. Right click to Program icons* (Internet Explore, File Explorer,etc...).
      *It is arranged in the left of the taskbar.
    26. Click to Unpin this program from taskbar.
    27. Above-mentioned is operated for all program icons.

    AUDIO SETTINGS
    *When the item doesn't exist, this setting is unnecessary.

    1. Right click to Speaker icon *right side of taskbar.
    2. Click to SoundsPlayback tab.
    3. Choice Speaker/HP and click to Properties.
    4. Click to Levels tab.
    5. The mute of all speakers@*click to Speaker icon.
    6. Click to OK.
    7. Click to Recording tab.
    8. Choice Microphone and click to Properties.
    9. Click to Levels tab.
    10. The mute of all microphones@*click to Speaker icon.
    11. Click to OK.

    WIRELESS SETTINGS

    1. Click to CharmSettingswireless icon.
    2. Airplane mode is On.

    DEVICE MANAGER SETTINGS (The chipset of Intel HM7x is included)

    1. Press Win key and R key. Input devmgmt.msc, and click OK. Device Manager is opened.
    2. Click View → select Devices by connection.
    3. Open all device written (*) in the following tables.
    4. Set Disable from the DEVICE of lower hierarchy to DEVICE of higher hierarchy.

    5. Right click device of target, and select Disable. Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning... is displayed.

    7. The setting of the device not displayed is unnecessary.
    8. If restart is demanded when Disable is set, click No.
    9. In the model of wireless keyboard and the wireless mouse, Disable is not set to HID Keyboard Device and HID-compliant mouse and Disable is not set to USB controller Device.
    10. Close window of DeviceManager.

    1. Press Win key and R key. Input devmgmt.msc, and click OK. Device Manager is opened.
    2. Click View → select Devices by connection.
