How to enjoy 3D surround sound with the Neckband Speaker or Sony brand headphones

    By connecting the transmitter supplied with the Wireless Neckband Speaker (SRS-NS7) or the optional wireless transmitter (WLA-NS7) to a BRAVIA XR series TV and adjusting certain settings, you can enjoy the realistic sound of 3D surround with the Neckband Speaker or Sony brand headphones.

    In addition, you can use the data regarding the shape of your ear with a compatible app to help you enjoy more immersive and optimised 3D surround effects.

    Notes:
    • If you are using BRAVIA Theater U, you will need the WLA-NS7 (not supplied) wireless transmitter.
    • To enjoy this feature, please update the TV software to the latest version.
    • For Taiwan only: The Wearable Neck Speaker (SRS-WS1) is not the target model.
    • For Taiwan only: The Wireless Neckband Speaker (SRS-NB10) is not the target model.

    1. Connect the TV and transmitter

    Connect the transmitter to the TV. For details, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the Wireless Neckband Speaker SRS-NS7 or BRAVIA Theatre U.

    The optical digital output terminal and USB terminal are on the back or side of the TV. Check the Setup Guide supplied with the TV for the location of each terminal.

    2. Pair the transmitter with the Neckband Speaker or headphones (Except for SRS-NS7)

    Note: For SRS-NS7, skip to the following step: 3. Set up 3D surround on the TV

    To experience 3D surround sound, pair the transmitter with the Neckband Speaker or Sony brand headphones.

    1. Turn on the TV.
      Note: On the TV screen, the 3D surround initial setting screen will be displayed. Before following these on-screen instructions, proceed to Steps 2 and 3 below.
    2. On the transmitter, press and hold the (BLUETOOTH) button for about 5 seconds.
      The indicator (blue) on the transmitter will flash twice and enter pairing mode.
      Note: When using it for the first time after purchase, the transmitter will automatically enter pairing mode once it is connected to the TV with a cable.
    3. Set the Neckband Speaker or headphones to pairing mode:
      The procedure may vary depending on the product. For detailed pairing instructions, please refer to the Help Guide or Manual of each product.

      Note: Once the Neckband Speaker is paired with the BLUETOOTH device, there is no need to pair them again.

    3. Set up 3D surround on the TV

    Standard 3D surround settings:

    1. On the TV screen, the 3D surround initial setting screen will be displayed. Follow the instructions on the TV screen, and select Next to continue.
    2. When the initial settings are complete, the message Setup complete is displayed. Select Play demo to start the demo.

    More immersive 3D surround settings:

    1. If the TV is connected to the internet, you will see the standard 3D surround settings followed by a settings screen to enjoy more immersive 3D surround.
    2. Select Optimise now to continue setting up more immersive 3D surround.

      IMPORTANT: To set up a more immersive 3D surround sound, you need to sign in to Sony's Cloud Service for Home Entertainment & Sound Products.

      Notes:
      • If your TV is not connected to the internet, this settings screen will be skipped and you will be taken to the How to use screen.
      • You can also make this setting later. In that case, select Not now. If you would like to set it later, please refer to the following step To set 3D surround settings later.
    3. Prepare a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet and follow the on-screen instructions to sign in.
      Note: If you are already signed in, the account selection screen will be displayed. Please select the account you want to use.
    4. After signing in, scan the QR code on your mobile device and install the dedicated app (360 Spatial Sound Personalizer), Next, follow the instructions on the screen of the app to take a picture of your ear on your mobile device. When the measurement is completed, the TV screen will switch automatically.

      Note: If you already have an account and have taken a picture of your ear, this step will be skipped.
    5. After completing the settings, select Play demo to start the demo.

    To set 3D surround settings later:

    You can also set the 3D surround settings on your TV later. If you do wait until later, make sure the TV and transmitter are connected before changing the 3D surround settings. Check the following for the procedure.

    4. Enjoy 3D surround

    Once the initial setup is complete, you can enjoy 3D surround using the Neckband Speaker or headphones.

    Notes:
    • No sound is output from the TV when enjoying 3D surround. The volume control button on the TV remote control is disabled. Adjust the volume with the Neckband Speaker or headphones.

      Depending on the headphone model, it may be necessary to adjust the volume using the Sony | Headphones Connect app. For details, please check the headphones instruction manual.
    • If you connect the Neckband Speaker or headphones directly to the TV via Bluetooth, you will not be able to enjoy 3D surround.

    How to stop 3D surround:

    Turn off the Neckband Speaker or headphones, or turn off 3D surround from the Quick Settings (spanner or gear), 3D surround ends and the TV outputs sound.

    Note: If there's no sound from the TV speakers after turning off the Neckband speaker or headphones, also turn off 3D surround.

    How to restart 3D surround:

    To use the Neckband Speaker or headphones again, on the TV remote control press the Quick Settings (spanner or gear) button and turn on 3D surround.

    Note: If the TV already has the 3D surround turned on, you can enjoy the 3D surround by turning on the Neckband speaker or headphones with the transmitter connected to the TV. If you can't start 3D surround after turning on the Neckband speaker or headphones, turn on 3D surround.
