There is a difference between the number of audio channels selected in Netflix and the number displayed on the audio system.

When you watch a Netflix video with the Digital audio out set to Auto, Auto1, or Auto2, audio from optical digital out/ARC is output as Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch or Dolby Atmos. This is a specification and will happen regardless of whether the audio of the Netflix video is 2ch or 5.1ch.
Notes:
- If your TV does not have Auto2 in the Digital audio out settings, audio from optical digital out/ARC is output as Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch.
- The reason is locked to Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch or Dolby Atmos is to prevent the audio system from muting or producing noise when switching the number of audio channels.
