How to delete the album, music, or video content of a USB memory device using the Google TV™ or Android TV™ applications

The ability to delete the content of a USB memory differs depending on the Android™ OS version of the TV.
Note:  You can check the OS version of your TV by following the What Android OS version does the Google TV/Android TV use? article.

TVs with Android 9 or later

You cannot delete the content of a USB memory device using Media PlayerAlbum, Music, or Video applications of the TV. To delete this content, use another device, such as a computer or a tablet.

TVs with Android 8.0 or earlier

You can delete the content of a USB memory device from within the Album category, but you cannot delete them from within Music or Video categories. The Music and Video categories are read-only. Please use a computer to delete Music or Video category content.
Note: Video content displayed in the Album category can also be deleted.

How to delete photos and videos from within the Album category:

    • To delete one photo or video file:
      1. Select a photo or video.
      2. Press the ACTION MENU button on the remote.
      3. Press the Delete in the Album category.
    • To delete multiple photos or videos:
      1. Display the photos or videos as a list.
      2. Press the ACTION MENU button on the remote.
      3. Press the Select item in the Album category.
      4. Press the ACTION MENU button on the remote.
      5. Press the Delete in the Album category.

    Notes:

    • The Album and Music category content that came pre-installed on the TV cannot be deleted.
    • If the Delete menu is not displayed in the Album, you will need to perform a software update. For details, refer to the How to perform a software update article.
