How to configure Windows default settings and how to show Welcome to Microsoft Windows in Windows XP?

Installing Windows in a new VAIO notebook computer or after System Restore.

• Operating when Welcome to use Microsoft Windows interface appears after starting the computer
• Starting Windows system.

When users start VAIO for the first time, please configure the initial settings in the Welcome to Microsoft Windows interface to run Windows system.
In addition, please configure the initial settings in the Welcome to Microsoft Windows interface after System Restore.

※	Different computer models have different interfaces displayed.

1. When the Welcome to Microsoft Windows interface displays, click in Next on the lower right of the interface.
   
   
   
   

2. Read User License Agreement carefully, select I agree, and click .
   
   
   Remark
   If users select I don't agree, the installation of Windows system will be aborted.
   VAIO notebook cannot be used without installing Windows system.
   
3. Please select Help protect my PC by turning on Automatic Updates now or Not right now, and then click in Help protect your PC.
   
   
   

    

4. In Please type computer name, type a name or click Skip according to requirement. Click.
   
   
   
   For computers pre-installed with Windows XP Home Edition, please refer to Step 7.
   

5. For computers pre-installed with Windows XP Professional, in the Type the password for the administrator account interface, please type the password in Administrator password and Confirm password. Click .
   
   
   Note:
   Please be sure to set a password.
   
   
   

6. In Whether this computer is connected to LAN, please select it according to the actual network conditions, and then click .
   
   
   
   

7. When the Please confirm the way of network connections or Choose not to connect the Internet interface displays, please click .
   
   

   ※	Here is an example of the Please confirm the way of network connections interface.

   
   
   
   Remark
   Please select the way of network connections in Please confirm the way of network connections, and then click Next. The interface of setting network connections will display according to the item users have selected.
   Please refer to the instructions on the displayed interfaces to configure the settings.
   
   

8. In Whether you are ready to log on Microsoft system, select No, I will log on later, and then click .
   
   

   ※	If select Yes, log on right now and click Next, users can log on Microsoft system online. The above operation must be performed when the network is connected.

   
   
   

    

9. In Please confirm the user name in the computer, please type a name, and then click .
   
   

   ※	If users type several user names, the Welcome to use... interface will appear when VAIO is started.

   
   
   
   

10. Click in Finish in the Finish settings interface.
