How to create or delete partitions on Windows Vista?
Creating or deleting partitions on Windows Vista.
- Create a partition
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click Computer, and select Manage.
3. When the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue.
If the User Account Control dialog box does not appear, please proceed to the
next step.
4. In the Computer Manager window, select Disk Management.
5. Right-click C: drive, and select Shrink Volume.
6. Click the button in the Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB: column. Input any arbitrary number and then click the Shrink button.
7. Right-click the left blank area of the disk, click New Simple Volume.
8. When the New Simple Volume Wizard window appears, click Next.
9. Click the 9. Click button in theSimple volume size in MB column. Input any arbitrary number and then click Next.
10. Allocate a letter to the newly-created volume and specify a blank folder. Click Next.
11. Specify a format to this volume, click Next.
12. Click Finish. A new volume is created. It will take some time to format the volume.
- Delete a partition
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click Computer, and select Manage.
3. When the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue. If the User Account Control dialog box does not appear, please proceed to the next step.
4. In the Computer Manager window, select Disk Management.
5. Right-click the volumeto be deleted, select Delete volume.
6. When the Delete Simple Volume window appears, click Yes.
7. The volume is successfully deleted when it is displayed as Unallocated.
